      Cuthbert Ogle, named in his father's will, under age (c) ; Queen's College, Oxon.; matriculated 9th Nov., 1582, aged 13; B.A. 14 Dec 1586 ; 10 Aug 1612, Ralph Lord Eure sold to him for £980 half the town of Kirkley, i.e. the east and west quarters and part of the south quarters, where he bought 4 farms from Mark Ogle on 7 Aug 1613, for £700 ; bought land in Carter Moor and Kirkley East Quarter from J. Anderson on 13th May, 1628; built Kirkley Hall, 1632; died 14Jan 1655/6; will dated 24 May1654 (c).
